Cionosicys excisus

$10.00

This cucurbit is an endemic from the yucatan tip. The taste is sweet as sugar and a bit milky but it must be perfectly ripe to eat. Excisus grows a large tuber to go dormant and will regrow each year. The root should be kept dry during cold weather. There is actually another cionosicys species native to Panama. It would be very interesting to attempt a hybrid fruit between the two.
