Native to Asia the wineberry thrives in alkaline, neutral and acid soils. These plants are profusely productive, who's fruits taste just like a sweet raspberry while having a glossy fruit. The stems have minute prickles that are purple. This species spreads by runners and is very cold hardy handling many months of deep snow. Thrive in the sun or shade.
